No one has written so specifically about the emotional trials, and the freedom from the beliefs about ourselves that hold us back, that is a major gift of long distance backpacking. In an age of people addicted to seeking the illusion of security, Zach points us to a return to our natural state of "knowingness", inner silence, and presence, which is the key to living life at full volume! Whether you have hiked the AT already, have a dream to, or never plan on donning your home on your back, the "turtle medicine" of long distance backpacking is healing for anyone who wants to dig deeper into who we are, without all the comforts that keep us from knowing our trueist, loving nature. Great job, ZD! - Lisa "shortcut" Holliday

Re: Interview w Zach “Good Badger” Davis, Author of Appalachian Trials – Episode 282

Thanks for the interview team. Josh, sorry for leaving you hanging in the beer drinking department. I should have known better....Saturday morning.....

Re: Vapur AntiBottle Foldable Water Bottle – Episode 279

It looks to me like a good addition to a compact light weight survival kit as a water container. Pre-punching holes in leathercraft, drilling a hole in a stick for firecraft or trap making.
I personally hate semi serrated knives. The only uses for a serrated blade are cutting cordage and cutting a steak and both those jobs can be done with a plain edge if one knows how to get it and keep it sharp. Something I will be posting a youtube video about sooner or later.
I like the bright color and the locking blade and I can tell you from first hand experience that the saw on Victorinox SAK work well cutting wood for a fire or shelter. You can even cut a branch thicker than the length of the saw blade if you exercise care and have practiced it.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll search and see if they have a plain edge version.

Re: Survival Straps Paracord Bracelet – Episode 274

I always like the idea of having paracord with you. It's useful for so many things.

Re: Yurbuds Gear Giveaway Contest

Great video. Would love to win a pair of yurbuds.

Re: Footbalance Insoles – Custom Footbeds Review – Episode 265

Outdoor activities require perfect footwear for a person to walk comfortably.I like your post!
